The NFL playoffs are upon us – families gather around their televisions sporting their favorite team apparel and hope that this year will be the year their team to makes it to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl will be highlighted and discussed throughout January, but it isn’t the only “bowl” that will be featured this month in Hutchinson.
About Clay Coyote Gallery and Pottery
Our January Business of the Month, Clay Coyote Gallery and Pottery, has been offering “super bowls” to customers for decades, along with other fantastic pieces of pottery and art. The working pottery studio and handmade art gift shop is located on a beautiful hobby farm in Hutchinson, and has been family owned and operated since it’s beginning. Thousands of people pass through the indoor and outdoor art spaces each year. Throughout the years, Clay Coyote’s potters have collaborated to make over 145,000 handcrafted one-of-a-kind pots to adore and purchase.
The Gallery is open every day and it carries the handmade work of more than 150 North American artisans. There is a ton of featured pottery, blown glass, unique handmade jewelry, turned wood, forged metals, and textile art. The Clay Coyote is the go-to place for a special, unique, handmade, and affordable gift. All of the products made at their studio can also be found in their online store.
Cooking with Art
Clay Coyote is most famously known for their Chef’s Line of pottery. This is a special line of pots that are designed to enhance your cooking experience. “They say cooking is an art; we make art you can cook with,” says owner, Morgan Baum. The Chef’s Line uses special flameware clay that can go over directly over open flames, stovetops, even your grill – most common pottery, such as stoneware, earthenware, and porcelain, is not designed for these extreme temperature changes.
Their “hottest” item at the moment is the Clay Coyote Flameware Grill Basket. To their knowledge, it is the only hand-thrown clay grill basket in the USA. The things you once spent hours skewering, you can now just toss right into your Grill Basket for an excellent grilling experience.
Super Baskets and the Super Bowl
In the spring of 2017, Clay Coyote had the opportunity to present their popular Grill Baskets to the NFL and MN Super Bowl Host Committee through the Super Bowl LII Business Connect program. By mid-summer, Clay Coyote found out that they were one of 350 companies in MN selected to be a part of the Business Connect program. Since then, they have been making and selling commemorative Super Bowl LII Grill Baskets; these perfect tailgating tools are limited edition and are available online and in their Gallery until mid-February.
There is a lot excitement around this unique opportunity for Clay Coyote Gallery and Pottery, but the fun doesn’t stop when the Super Bowl is over. There is always something new and exciting to see and experience at Clay Coyote. Stop by for a Coyote After Dark event where you can enjoy food, drinks, art, and your hand at the potter’s wheel! You can also sign up for a free Studio tour where you can see the Clay Coyote potters hard at work throwing, glazing, and firing pots. Stop by to view all that Clay Coyote Gallery and Pottery has to offer or checkout their online store as well.
