Our newsletter looks different this month, as does the world we are living in.
You are likely reading this from home, or a quieter-than-usual office, and for those of us who are not used to working from home… this is hard.
For perspective, Anne Frank, famous for chronicling her family’s plight during WW2, stayed in a small room for 761 days; with multiple people, little food, and horrendous living conditions. Toilet paper was the least of their concerns.
WE’VE GOT THIS!
We will NEVER again take for granted School Staff, Truck Drivers, Health Care Workers, Grocery Store Employees, or the HUNDREDS of others who keep this country going on a minute by minute basis.
For now, here’s what the Chamber is doing to continue helping our community:
This is where you can find updated information on:
- Business Resources
- Business Hours and Services that have been adjusted
- Restaurant Carry Out, Curbside, and Delivery Options
- If you have information that should be on these pages, PLEASE let us know and we will get it updated. Please share these resources with staff and friends.
Until the time comes that I can high-five you, shake your hand, or tackle you with a hug; I wish you nothing but good things, health and happiness among them.
Blessings and Gratitude,
Mary

April Business of the Month
In honor of the great sacrifice local businesses have made to keep our community safe and healthy, we devote this month’s business of the month to local businesses. Please remember to think local and support those who have taken difficult and costly steps to protect our community. We appreciate all businesses and want to commend them all for their flexibility, ingenuity, and sacrifice in these difficult times.
Arts & Crafts Festival Applications
While events happening in the next few months can’t be set in stone, we are moving forward with planning the 46th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival on September 18th & 19th. There are several exciting changes being made this year. First is a location change. Due to the Main Street 2020 project, the festival will move to the McLeod County Fairgrounds. With ample space for parking, indoor options for exhibitors, (and indoor plumbing!) this move is highly anticipated by all. Additionally, there will be a new exhibitor section called the Open Market. This section is reserved for those who sell or resell manufactured items, kit art, imports, store merchandise, ready-to-eat items, home-show items, antiques, or out-sourced mass produced items.
The application for exhibitors is linked below and can also be found on our website explorehutchinson.com.
